Lobby and family, I had the pleasure of knowing Kevin and working along side his Primary Care physician for many years. He was a man that lit up a room even when he felt the lowest, always asking how you are and caring, he was full of energy and gentle kindness is what he always showed me. I only got to know Kevin briefly, during the production of the recent television commercial for St. Joseph's Candler. But I felt like I had had made a great friend during that time, and I am so sorry that relationship cannot develop. And I understand the huge void that the loss of a great person like Kevin leaves. I feel a bit better knowing that Kevin lived more in his sixty-some years than any 3 other people that I've met. He got it all in, and left this world at his peak. I have lots of out-take footage of Catfish from that shoot that I can give you if you would like it. He was absolutely bigger than life that entire day and there are some great moments on video.

I had the pleasure to be around and play under Kevin Jackson during my high school years at Savannah Christian Prep School. Coach Jackson was a lightning rod of a man. His attitude, energy and passion for the game were infectious to every one he came across. Jackson was a tough, but fair coach. He wanted everyone to be the best version of themselves, which was evident with how he pushed us hard on the field and in the weight room. He was also privy to flashing his hardware from his days as a UGA athlete to us kids, not as a brag, but as a symbol of what we could accomplish if we put our all into it. Not only did he whip us into form on the field, he shaped many of us off the field too. Some of my fondest memories of Coach Jackson come from what our team would colloquially call "Team Night". Maybe not the most creatively named, but this jovial event would occur on Thursday nights during the season and would serve as a respite from the week's grueling practices. The food, often provided by Jackson himself, was good, but the greatest part was the fellowship. Stories were shared, jokes were told and lessons were conveyed. It's here where Coach Jackson, as well as the other coaches, would let their guards down for a few hours and invite us into their faith with pointed parables and speeches. It was a time to bond not only as a team, but as human beings. It is unfortunate that I did not get to spend much time with Coach Jackson post-graduation, but if I've learned anything in my admittedly short time on this planet, it's that God and the universe guide you to cross paths with those you need at a certain points in your own journey. Looking back, the four years I spent around Coach feel like a passing glance, but during that time he showed me many things. How to work and carry yourself like a champion. How you should be charitable to those around you. How to embrace your passions and live life passionately. These lessons, and others, certainly imprinted on an impressionable teen going through a tough time in his life. You never get to spend as long as you want, or feel you deserve, with someone, but their impact resonates long after you part ways. So while our time was short, and I am forever grateful for everything Coach Jackson said to and did for me. I wish to, on behalf of my mother and I, extend our deepest and sincerest condolences to Coach Jackson's family and friends. The world lost a great man, undeniably devout in his faith and passionate about his family and Georgia Bulldogs. Words cannot heal the hurt you must be feeling, but just know his memory will be celebrated long into the future. May he Rest In Power. -Joshua Garland

I am sorry to hear of his passing and your loss. He was very close to his family here in Cartersville,GA from the time he was born until he graduated from UGA. To this day, we still share countless family stories about him among us with love, admiration, and smiles on our faces. He meant a lot to everyone he met, and I'm happy to see that followed him as he established himself and began growing his family there in Savannah. His loss is deeply felt, whether it began on April 4th of this year for some of you, or well over 30 years ago for some of us here, especially me, my brother Joey, and my father Joe. We never tired of hearing of his accomplishments and meeting his family from time to time when the occasion arose. We took great pride in everything he did, knowing where he began and where he ended up, it is truly an inspiration to all, and a life well lived. He is still revered as the most successful member of our family, followed by our uncle Ray, and uncle Gene, who also took great pride in him. It is my wish that God bless and grant peace to Libby, Elizabeth, Lil Kev, Mary Margaret, and their spouses and children, and to comfort and guide them in their time of need.
